Chromotherapy is the application of different frequencies of light (Color) in specific areas or points of the body, for the treatment of various physical, mental and emotional ailments, Restoring Health and general well-being.
But How??
Imagine that for a moment you could hold in your hand a ray of Light, a ray of sunlight. And that this ray contained all the colors of a beautiful rainbow and the most brilliant gemstones. Imagine that you could gently apply this wonderful ray of Light to any part of your body, mind or spirit. And that the subtle vibration of this ray would soothe and heal any area that was weak or suffering from some ailment.
This idea is romantic, perhaps, but in essence this is exactly what we do when we treat with Chromotherapy.
For all color comes from Light, and all Light comes from the Sun.
But the rays of our sun are not made up of light alone. The sun's electromagnetic spectrum is vast and ranges from longer wavelengths, such as radio waves, to shorter wavelengths, such as x-rays and gamma waves. More or less in the middle of the spectrum is the energy band that is visible to the human eye, sunlight.
All sunlight begins as white light, and all the colors contained in that light are only visible to our eyes when water particles, following rain, form a prism and refract the different wavelengths of white light, revealing the colors contained in it. The same effect can be achieved by hanging a faceted crystal in a sunny window. Each wavelength in the spectrum of visible sunlight corresponds to one of the seven colors visible in the rainbow.
The discovery that sunlight contains different wavelengths and that each of them corresponds to a color was made by the British physicist Isaac Newton.
Therefore, light/color rays are electromagnetic waves similar to radio waves, microwaves, x-rays, ultraviolet or infrared. The only difference between these waves and color waves is in their wavelength and their frequency/vibration.
From the use of "Radio" rays (in microwaves, radars, television, etc.) to the use of X-rays (in photography of the human skeleton), or Gamma rays (in the treatment of malignant tumors), the entire invisible spectrum of solar radiation is widely used in the field of science, medicine and technology, with immense benefits but, unfortunately, also with harmful effects, in many cases.
However, unfortunately, little visible radiation is used, although its benefits are immense and its contraindications are almost non-existent.
Chromotherapy/Color therapy is an ancient therapy, dating back to the times of ancient Egypt.
Hippocrates, the father of modern Medicine, used color in his treatments, and considered the importance of treating the body, mind and spirit as a whole.
Unfortunately, this wisdom was lost, and medicine began to base itself solely on the physical aspects of the disease, devaluing other aspects of the being.
Fortunately, however, this situation has been reversed, and immense research and progress has been made in this therapeutic area.
COLOR CHARACTERISTICS
RED : In the visible light spectrum, red is just after the infrared ray, and therefore this color is the warmest color of all. This is the color with the longest wavelength (627-780 nanometers) and lowest frequency (430THZ).
Red is a symbol of life, vitality and physical energy. This color is associated with the instinct for survival and procreation. Red is the most stimulating color in the spectrum, increasing physical energy, blood pressure and blood circulation.
Physically, red is associated with the sexual endocrine glands, the coccyx and the legs. Therapeutically, red is used in the treatment of anemia, viral infections, lethargy, infertility, muscle fatigue, etc.
ORANGE : Orange light appears next to red in the electromagnetic spectrum and is a combination of equal parts red and yellow light. It is a warm color but does not have the energy and heat vibrations of red. Orange has a wavelength of 589-627 nm and a frequency of 500 THz.
This color is associated with feminine and creative energy. Orange is the color of joy, independence and adventure.
The warm and invigorating vibration of this color makes it an excellent emotional stimulant and a strong antidepressant. Physically, the color orange is associated with the adrenal glands, kidneys, bladder, uterus and intestines.
Therapeutically it is used in the treatment of depression, chronic fatigue, kidney stones, ovarian problems, etc.
YELLOW : The solar disposition of yellow radiates warmth, inspiration and joy. Yellow is the color of intellect, logical thinking, mental inspiration and self-confidence. Yellow has purgative and detoxifying qualities.
Yellow light has a wavelength of 556-589 nm and a frequency of 520 THz.
Physically this color is associated with the stomach, liver, gallbladder, skeletal system and pancreas.
Therapeutically, yellow light treats diabetes, digestive problems, osteoporosis, arthritis, etc.
GREEN : Green is the color that is in the middle of the light spectrum, and is considered the color of harmony, balance and connection with nature. As this is a color associated with harmony and balance, its use brings stability to the mind and emotions.
In the solar spectrum green has a wavelength of 495-556 nm and a frequency of 570 THZ.
Physically this color vibrates at the same vibration as the heart, lungs and thymus gland.
Therapeutically, green light is beneficial in the treatment of tumors, flu, malnutrition, etc.
BLUE : In the electromagnetic spectrum, blue is in the cool part of the spectrum. This makes it a calming and relaxing color. The color blue symbolizes inspiration, devotion, peace and tranquility. Blue light has a wavelength of 436-495 nm and a frequency of 640THz.
Physically, this color is associated with the thyroid gland, throat and ears. Therapeutically, blue light is beneficial in the treatment of throat inflammation, insomnia, colds, stress, etc.
VIOLET : Violet is the color in the spectrum with the shortest wavelength (380-436) nm and the highest frequency (750THZ). It is the coldest color in the spectrum and is located just before ultraviolet light.
Violet is the combination of the masculine energy of red with the feminine energy of blue, giving this color the ability to balance these two energies.
The color Violet is associated with spirituality, dignity, inner knowledge and self-respect.
Physically, the color violet is associated with the brain, the nervous system and the pineal gland.
Therapeutically, violet light is beneficial in the treatment of amnesia, phobias, schizophrenia, etc.
